• Chettinad Chicken Varuval


     Chicken - 6 to 8 pieces
    Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
     Ginger - 1 inch
    Garlic - 4 to 5 nos
    Dry Red Chillies - 5 to 6 nos
    Pepper Corns - 1/2 tsp
    Fennel Seeds( sombu) -2pinch
    Shallots(small onions) - 2 to 3 nos
    Coconut shredded - 1 tbsp
    CinnamonSticks - 1no
    Cloves _ 2 nos
    Cardamon - 1 no
    Curd - 1 tsp
    Salt To Taste
    Oil For Frying  



    1.First clean & wash the chicken pieces ,then marinate it with curd & turmeric powder for 5 minis.
    2.In the mean time grind ginger,garlic,dry red chillies,pepper corns,fennel seeds, shallots,shredded coconut,cinnamon,cardamon,cloves to fine paste ,by adding required amount of water.
    3.Put this gravy to the chicken,add salt & mix all well to together so that the chicken is fully coated with the gravy & marinate this for about 1/2 hour. Keep oil in a skillet /pan & deep fry the marinate chicken pieces..
    4.No need to add any extra masala powders , if want u can add extra red chillies for our spicy...
    5.This is an easy ,simple fry.
